Proposed precinct establishment orders; precinct boundaries following boundaries of other entities

Sec. 16. (a) If a proposed precinct establishment order includes a legal description of a precinct with a boundary that follows the boundary of a municipality, state legislative district, or municipal legislative district, the order must include the following: (1) A description in metes and bounds that identifies the boundary as that of a municipality, state legislative district, or municipal legislative district. (2) A notation on the map of the precinct indicating that the boundary is that of a municipality, state legislative district, or municipal legislative district.       (b) If a proposed precinct establishment order described by section 9 of this chapter includes a legal description of a boundary that follows a visible feature, the order must include a description in metes and bounds or an aerial photograph that identifies the visible feature that forms the boundary.
