Sec. 3.9. For purposes of section 7 of this chapter, "foster youth" means an individual who is: (1) at least sixteen (16) years of age; and (2) certified or acknowledged as a foster youth (as defined in IC 31-9-2-47.3 ) by the department of child services or a designee of the department of child services.
