Indiana Code § 27-8-13.4-2

Prohibition on coverage of abortion; exceptions; coverage through rider or endorsement

Sec. 2. (a) An accident and sickness insurance policy that is issued, delivered, amended, or renewed after December 31, 2014, may not provide coverage for abortion, except in the following cases: (1) The pregnant woman became pregnant through an act of rape or incest. (2) An abortion is necessary to avert the pregnant woman's death or a substantial and irreversible impairment of a major bodily function of the pregnant woman.       (b) An insurer that issues an accident and sickness insurance policy described in subsection (a) may offer coverage for abortion through a rider or an endorsement.   IC 27-8-13.5 Chapter 13.5.
