Medicare supplement policies

Sec. 9. (a) The association may issue Medicare supplement policies to individuals who reside in Indiana.       (b) A Medicare supplement policy issued under this section: (1) must be based on a model policy adopted by the commissioner under IC 27-8-13-10.1 ; and (2) must meet the standards for Medicare supplement policy benefits established under IC 27-8-13-10.1 .       (c) A Medicare supplement policy issued under this section is not subject to the deductible and coinsurance requirements and the eligibility restrictions applying to association policies under sections 4 and 5.1 of this chapter. However, the association may provide that an individual is not eligible for a Medicare supplement policy issued under this section unless the individual has applied to one (1) carrier for a Medicare supplement policy and the application of the individual has been rejected.
