Sec. 9. (a) As used in this chapter, "virtual claim payment" means a type of electronic funds transfer in which: (1) a health insurer or contracted vendor of a health insurer issues a single use series of numbers for purposes of payment for dental care performed by a dental provider and chargeable to a predetermined dollar amount; and (2) the dental provider is responsible for processing the payment using a credit card terminal or Internet portal. (b) The term includes virtual or online credit card payments in which: (1) no physical credit card is presented to the dental provider; and (2) the virtual or online credit card expires upon payment processing.
