Sec. 1. (a) The department may examine or investigate the business and affairs of a discount medical card program organization. (b) The department may: (1) order a discount medical card program organization or applicant for registration under IC 27-17-2 to produce records, books, files, advertising and solicitation materials, and other information; and (2) take statements under oath to determine whether the discount medical card program organization or applicant is in violation of the law or is acting contrary to the public interest. (c) A discount medical card program organization or applicant that is examined or investigated under this chapter shall pay any expense incurred in conducting the examination or investigation.
