Exemption application; hearing

Sec. 14. (a) In response to a written application from a domestic insurer, the commissioner may grant an exemption from compliance with this chapter if the commissioner finds, upon review of the application, that compliance with this chapter would constitute a financial or an organizational hardship upon the domestic insurer. An exemption may be granted at any time for a specified period.       (b) Within ten (10) days after the denial of a domestic insurer's written request for an exemption from this chapter, the insurer may, in writing, request a hearing on its application for an exemption. The hearing shall be held under IC 4-21.5 .
