Sec. 3. (a) A person shall not sell, solicit, or negotiate insurance in Indiana for any class or classes of insurance unless the person is licensed for that line of authority under this chapter. (b) An insurer shall require a person who sells, solicits, or negotiates insurance in Indiana by any means of communication on behalf of the insurer to be licensed under this chapter. (c) A violation of subsection (b) is deemed an unfair method of competition and an unfair and deceptive act and practice in the business of insurance under IC 27-4-1-4 .
