Nonresident applicants; service of process

Sec. 20. (a) Nonresident applicants for a license to act as a plumbing contractor or journeyman plumber in Indiana shall file a written application with the commission on a form to be provided by the commission. The nonresident applicant shall also file a certified copy of his license, or certificate of registration as a plumbing contractor or journeyman plumber in the state wherein he resides.       (b) In addition, every nonresident applicant to be licensed as a plumbing contractor or journeyman plumber shall file an irrevocable appointment of the secretary of the commission as his agent for service of process within this state. (1) All process served upon the secretary of the commission as agent for a nonresident plumbing contractor or journeyman plumber shall be served in duplicate. One (1) copy shall be filed in the office of the commission and one (1) copy shall be forwarded to the nonresident licensee or registrant by the secretary by certified mail, return receipt requested. (2) Service of process upon the secretary, as provided in this section shall be equivalent to personal service within the state upon the nonresident licensee or registrant.
