Sec. 4. (a) "Certified direct entry midwife" or "CDEM" means an individual who is a certified direct entry midwife and certified under this article. (b) The term does not include any of the following: (1) An individual engaged in the practice of medicine under IC 25-22.5 . (2) A certified nurse midwife engaged only in the practice of midwifery under IC 25-23 . (3) An individual providing emergency medical services.
