Sec. 30. (a) Except as provided in section 36 of this chapter, a crematory authority may cremate human remains upon receipt of a cremation authorization form signed by an authorizing agent. (b) In the absence of gross negligence or noncompliance with this chapter, a crematory authority is not liable for: (1) cremating human remains according to an authorization; or (2) releasing or disposing of the cremated remains according to an authorization form.
