Sec. 2. (a) The Indiana geological and water survey is established as a part of Indiana University. (b) The head of the survey is the state geologist. (c) The survey is under the direction and control of the board of trustees of Indiana University to: (1) continue the geological, hydrogeological, and scientific survey of Indiana; (2) continue the work of discovering, developing, and preserving the water, mineral, and energy resources of Indiana; and (3) have charge of the state geological sample collection.
