Degree program reviews; requirements

Sec. 3. (a) Each institution shall do the following: (1) Plan and conduct a degree program review in accordance with section 4 of this chapter to be used for the purposes described in subdivision (3). The degree program review must include an analysis of enrollment and both quantitative and qualitative data. (2) Develop procedures to evaluate the effectiveness of the institution's degree programs to address the quality, viability, and productivity of efforts in: (A) teaching and learning; (B) scholarship; and (C) service; as appropriate to the institution's mission. (3) Use the findings and recommendations from the degree program review for the progressive improvement and adjustment of degree programs in the context of the institution's strategic plan. (4) Submit each degree program review to the commission. (5) Post a degree program review on the applicable institution's website.       (b) The adjustment under subsection (a)(3) may include: (1) degree program enhancement; (2) maintenance of a degree program at its current level; (3) degree program reduction in scope; or (4) consolidation or elimination of a degree program.
