Sec. 5. The board of trustees may: (1) establish a fire department and employ fire and safety personnel at the West Lafayette campus; (2) determine the duties and direct the conduct of fire and safety personnel; (3) prescribe distinctive uniforms for fire and safety personnel; and (4) obtain emergency vehicles and equipment for the fire department.
