Decision making skills addressed in case conference committee; notes

Sec. 4. (a) This section applies to a case conference committee for a student in grades 8 through 12.       (b) At a case conference committee meeting, the committee shall start addressing decision making skills, which shall include a discussion of supported decision making and other alternative options or programs for the student in lieu of the appointment of a guardian and whether these options are necessary. The case conference committee shall include in the individualized education program or a plan developed under Section 504 of the federal Rehabilitation Act of 1973, 29 U.S.C. 794 notes relating to the discussion of alternative options or programs.   IC 20-35-7 Chapter 7.
