Attendance officers; special powers

Sec. 40. (a) Each attendance officer may serve original and other process in cases arising under this chapter.       (b) An attendance officer may enter any place where a child is employed to determine whether violations of this chapter have occurred. When an attendance officer or a school official is exercising the power granted under this subsection, any officer, manager, director, employee or other person who refuses to permit the attendance officer's or the school official's entry into a place of business or interferes with the officer's or official's investigation in any way commits a violation of this chapter.
