Sec. 22. (a) This section applies to teacher licensing examinations administered to determine whether an individual demonstrates, in accordance with section 12(b) of this chapter, proficiency in: (1) pedagogy; and (2) knowledge of the areas in which the individual is required to have a license to teach. (b) Not later than July 1, 2020, the state board shall adopt teacher licensing examinations to replace the teacher licensing examinations administered on July 1, 2019. (c) The state board shall adopt teacher licensing examinations that are already in existence and administered nationally. (d) The department shall, not later than September 1, 2021, implement the teacher licensing examinations adopted under this section. (e) The state board may adopt rules under IC 4-22-2 to carry out this section.
