Sec. 7. Notwithstanding any other statute, the governing body of a school corporation may, by resolution, appoint: (1) the school corporation's superintendent of schools; or (2) a person residing within the school corporation's boundaries; to serve on a public board, commission, or public body, including park boards, library boards, tax adjustment boards, or city or county plan commissions, if legislation requires or allows representation on the public board, commission, or body by a member of the governing body, the school corporation's superintendent, or a designated educator.
