Sec. 17. (a) Each year before the date specified in the rules adopted by the state board, a school corporation shall report the information specified in subsection (b) for each student: (1) for whom tuition support is paid by another school corporation; (2) for whom tuition support is paid by the state; and (3) who is enrolled in the school corporation but has the equivalent of a legal settlement in another state or country; to the department. (b) Each school corporation shall provide the following information for each school year for each category of student described in subsection (a): (1) The amount of tuition support and other support received for the students described in subsection (a). (2) The operating expenses, as determined under section 13 of this chapter, incurred for the students described in subsection (a). (3) Special equipment expenditures that are directly related to educating students described in subsection (a). (4) The number of transfer students described in subsection (a). (5) Any other information required under the rules adopted by the state board after consultation with the office of the secretary of family and social services. (c) The information required under this section shall be reported in the format and on the forms specified by the state board.
