Establishment of dedicated virtual education school; separate school identification number; rules

Sec. 4. (a) If the lesser of at least: (1) one hundred (100) students of a school corporation; or (2) thirty percent (30%) of the total number of students enrolled in the school corporation; receive at least fifty percent (50%) of instruction through a school corporation's virtual education program, the school corporation shall establish a dedicated virtual education school.       (b) The department shall assign a separate school identification number for the dedicated virtual education school.       (c) Before December 31, 2026, the state board shall adopt rules under IC 4-22-2 to establish financial reporting and oversight required by a school corporation and a vendor who enter into or renew a contract relating to the operation of a dedicated virtual education school.
