Online platform; information and training; continuing education

Sec. 29. (a) Not later than July 1, 2024, the department may establish or license for use an online platform that: (1) provides information and training on each of the subjects and content described in IC 20-28-3-5.5 and IC 20-28-5.5-1.5 ; (2) is accessible by both teachers and students enrolled in a teacher preparation program; and (3) upon successful completion of the training, provides written confirmation to a teacher or student described in subdivision (2) that the teacher or student successfully completed the training.       (b) Not later than July 1, 2025, the department may include the following information and training on the online platform described in subsection (a): (1) 29 CFR 1910.1030 concerning bloodborne pathogens. (2) 29 CFR 1910.147 concerning lock out/tag out. (3) 511 IAC 5-5-5 concerning assessment training.       (c) If a teacher successfully completes a training on the online platform, the training must count towards continuing education required for licensure renewal, as prescribed by the department.
