Establishment of fund; source of funding; administration

Sec. 2. (a) The pediatric cancer research and treatment fund is established for the purpose of providing matching funds for medical research and treatment grants that focus on pediatric cancer research.       (b) The fund consists of: (1) money received from state or federal grants or programs; and (2) gifts, money, and donations received from any other source.       (c) The state department shall administer the fund. The expenses of administering the fund shall be paid from money in the fund.       (d) The treasurer of state shall invest the money in the fund not currently needed to meet the obligations of the fund in the same manner as other public money may be invested.       (e) Money in the fund at the end of a state fiscal year does not revert to the state general fund.       (f) Money in the fund is continuously appropriated for the purposes of the fund.
