Release of individuals with a communicable disease from state penal institutions; advanced reports; jurisdiction of health officers

Sec. 9. (a) Not more than thirty (30) days after the proposed release from a state penal institution of a prisoner who is known to have: (1) tuberculosis in a communicable stage; or (2) another serious communicable disease; the chief administrative officer of the penal institution shall report to the state department the name, address, age, sex, and date of release of the prisoner.       (b) The state department shall provide the information furnished the state department under subsection (a) to the health officer having jurisdiction over the prisoner's destination address.       (c) Each health officer where the prisoner may be found has jurisdiction over the released prisoner.
