Sec. 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of this article, the commission shall issue a temporary license or certificate to an individual to allow the individual to provide emergency medical services if the individual satisfies the following conditions: (1) The individual applies for the temporary license or certificate in the manner prescribed by the commission. (2) The individual has, within the past five (5) years, held: (A) a certificate or license under this article; or (B) an equivalent certificate or license in another state; to provide emergency medical services. (3) The individual remains in good standing with the issuing entity and the license or certification described in subdivision (2): (A) was retired, surrendered, or otherwise inactivated by the individual; and (B) was not revoked, suspended, or relinquished by the issuing entity.
