Laboratory director; chemist

Sec. 3. (a) For the conduct of the state health laboratory, the state department shall employ and appoint a laboratory director other than the state health commissioner.       (b) The laboratory director shall have charge of and manage the state health laboratory. The laboratory director is entitled to receive a salary established by the state department subject to approval by the budget agency. The laboratory director must be learned and skilled in bacteriology and pathology.       (c) The state department shall also employ a skilled chemist, whose salary is established by the state department subject to approval by the budget agency.
