Support to local health departments; technical support; funding

Sec. 2. (a) The state department may provide services to support local health departments.       (b) The state department or contractor of the state department may make available technical support for the following services to local health departments that provide core public health services: (1) Epidemiology. (2) Data analytics. (3) Legal services. (4) Communications. (5) Grants. (6) Training. (7) Accreditation. (8) Assistance with reporting requirements, metric development, and metric tracking. The state department may provide additional technical support, as determined by the state department.       (c) The legal services provided under subsection (b) are limited to technical support. A state department attorney may not represent a local health department as the local health department's counsel.       (d) The state department may provide funding to local health departments to defray the costs of accreditation.
