General lake improvement funds

Sec. 49. (a) The board of county commissioners of each county may establish a general lake improvement fund. The fund shall be used to pay for the construction of dams and other works to raise, stabilize, or maintain lake levels under this chapter. The fund includes the following: (1) Taxes levied or collected for lake improvement purposes. (2) The proceeds of bonds issued and sold for lake improvement purposes. (3) Assessments for benefits to property under this chapter. (4) Other money that is provided by law to be paid into the fund.       (b) If the board of county commissioners considers it inadvisable to establish a general lake improvement fund, payments for projects under this chapter shall be paid into and shall be paid from the county general fund.
