Number of inspection stations in certain counties

Sec. 5.4. (a) This section applies to the following counties: (1) A county having a population of more than eighty thousand four hundred (80,400) and less than eighty-two thousand (82,000). (2) A county having a population of more than one hundred twenty thousand (120,000) and less than one hundred thirty thousand (130,000).       (b) For the purpose of determining the number of inspection stations operating in a county under this subsection, a temporary or portable inspection station counts as an inspection station. After July 1, 1997, the department must maintain in a county under subsection (a) an equal or greater number of inspection stations as were operating in the county on July 1, 1996.
