Sec. 53. (a) Except as provided in subsection (b), "dangerous", for purposes of IC 12-26 , means a condition in which an individual as a result of mental illness, presents a substantial risk that the individual will harm the individual or others. (b) "Dangerous", for purposes of IC 12-26-5 , means a condition in which an individual presents a substantial risk that the individual will harm the individual or others.
