Establishment; administration of program

Sec. 1. (a) The division may establish and administer a community and faith based substance abuse programs grant for the purpose of assisting in the funding of newly established and existing community and faith based substance abuse programs administered by at least one (1) nonprofit community or faith based entity that is intended to support individuals in: (1) avoiding abuse of; or (2) overcoming addiction to; at least one (1) substance.       (b) The division shall administer the program. The division shall create a grant application for the grant and develop a process for receiving and evaluating completed grant applications. In reviewing a submitted grant application, the division shall contact at least one (1) of the following that the applicant has designated in the grant application to obtain input about the applicant's program success: (1) A drug court judge or magistrate. (2) A judge or magistrate who considers drug related prosecutions. (3) The supervising judge of a court alcohol and drug services program. (4) A chief law enforcement officer in the geographical area in which the applicant is providing services. (5) Any other person the division has determined would be acceptable to obtain the input required in this subsection.   IC 12-23-24.2 Chapter 24.2.
