Sec. 9. (a) A township trustee may not provide food assistance for more than thirty (30) days unless an individual files an application with the township trustee that includes the following: (1) Evidence of application for food stamps from the division of family resources. (2) The amount of assistance received or the reason for denial of assistance. (b) The township trustee shall inform an applicant for food assistance that food stamps may be available from the division of family resources and that the township trustee may not provide food assistance for more than thirty (30) days unless the individual files an application for food stamps with the division of family resources.
