Sec. 3. If the commissioner transfers a person from the custody of the department under this chapter, the transfer does not affect the sentence under which the person was committed to the department. The person's sentence continues to run during the period that the person is in the custody of the appropriate officials of the United States or the foreign country to which the person is transferred. The person is subject to return to the custody of the department under this chapter if the person has not completed the person's sentence. IC 11-8-5 Chapter 5.
