State fire marshal; duties

Sec. 3. (a) The state fire marshal appointed under IC 22-14-2-2 shall manage the department's administration of the following: (1) IC 22-11 . (2) IC 22-12 . (3) IC 22-13 . (4) IC 22-14 . (5) IC 22-15 .       (b) In carrying out the duties under subsection (a), the state fire marshal shall do the following: (1) Provide department staff to support the fire prevention and building safety commission established by IC 22-12-2-1 . (2) Partner with state agencies, including the Indiana department of health and state educational institutions, to develop public safety education and outreach programs.       (c) The state fire marshal may not exercise any powers or perform any duties specifically assigned to either of the following: (1) The fire prevention and building safety commission. (2) The state building commissioner.       (d) The state fire marshal may delegate the state fire marshal's authority to the appropriate department staff.
