Sec. 6. Subject to section 7 of this chapter, the department may approve an individual to participate in the pilot program if the following conditions are met: (1) The individual was previously employed, or is currently employed, as a firefighter. (2) The individual applies to participate in the pilot program in a form and manner prescribed by the department.
