Sec. 8a. Advertisement and sale of certain investments. (a) Every person who sells or offers to sell a certificate of deposit shall disclose in every advertisement therefor whether the certificate of deposit is insured, the identity of the insurer, and whether the certificate is backed by the full faith and credit of any government. (b) With respect to the sale of any uninsured certificate of deposit, each person referred to in subsection (a) shall notify the purchaser in writing of the lack of insurance.
