(a) A "warrant of arrest" is a written order from a court directed to a peace officer, or to some other person specifically named, commanding him to arrest a person. (b) A "summons" is a written order issued by a court which commands a person to appear before a court at a stated time and place. (c) A "notice to appear" is a written request issued by a peace officer that a person appear before a court at a stated time and place.
