A victim of sexual assault or sexual abuse may give a person consent to provide information about the sexual assault or sexual abuse to a law enforcement officer, and the officer shall complete a written report unless: (1) the person contacting law enforcement fails to provide the person's name and contact information; or (2) the person contacting law enforcement fails to affirm that the person has the consent of the victim of the sexual assault or sexual abuse. provide the person's name and contact information; or affirm that the person has the consent of the victim of the sexual assault or sexual abuse.
