(a) For the purposes of this Section, "wireless telephone" means a device that is capable of transmitting or receiving telephonic communications without a wire connecting the device to the telephone network. (b) A person commits the offense of unlawful possession of a firearm in the shape of a wireless telephone when he or she manufactures, sells, transfers, purchases, possesses, or carries a firearm shaped or designed to appear as a wireless telephone. (c) This Section does not apply to or affect the sale to or possession of a firearm in the shape of a wireless telephone by a peace officer. (d) Sentence. Unlawful possession of a firearm in the shape of a wireless telephone is a Class 4 felony.
