of commissioner in contracts forbidden. No commissioner shall be interested, directly or indirectly, in any contract for the performance of any work by the district, whether original, additional, repair or maintenance, for the purchase or rental of any machinery or equipment by the district, or for the purchase of any materials or supplies by the district.
