Demand for books and papers by successor upon expiration of

predecessor's term. Whenever the term of any supervisor, township clerk, or
commissioner of highways expires and another person is elected or appointed to
that office, the successor, immediately after he or she enters upon the duties
of the office, shall demand of his or her predecessor all the books and papers
belonging to the office and under the predecessor's control.
