Any museum or historical society for which township funds are distributed under this Article shall be maintained and operated, in addition to any other purposes, for the following purposes: (1) To foster and promote a sense of understanding and pride in the accomplishments and achievements of the people of the township. (2) To promote a greater knowledge of the history of the township and its relationship to the history of the State of Illinois and the United States.
