reason to suspect that pullorum or fowl typhoid exists in a flock of poultry or in a hatchery, he shall give notice of such fact to the Department. Flocks deemed to be infected shall be quarantined by the Department until all known reactors have been slaughtered, the remaining poultry on the farm or in the hatchery have been tested and the flock deemed eligible for release by the Department. All or part of quarantined flocks may be sold for slaughter upon written permission from the Department.
