The term "designated brucellosis epidemiologist" means an epidemiologist who has demonstrated the knowledge and ability to perform the functions required by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and who has been selected as a designated brucellosis epidemiologist by the State Animal Health Official and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
