(a) For purposes of this Section, "thermal paper" means paper with bisphenol A added to the coating. (b) Beginning January 1, 2020, no person shall manufacture, for sale in this State, thermal paper. (c) No person shall distribute or use any thermal paper for the making of business or banking records, including, but not limited to, records of receipts, credits, withdrawals, deposits, or credit or debit card transactions. This subsection shall not apply to thermal paper that was manufactured prior to January 1, 2020. (d) The prohibition in subsections (a) and (b) shall not apply to paper containing recycled material.
