A manufacturer program operator shall: (1) Adopt policies and procedures to be followed by persons handling covered drugs collected under the program to ensure compliance with State and federal laws, rules, and regulations, including regulations adopted by the United States Drug Enforcement Administration. (2) Ensure the security of patient information on drug packaging during collection, transportation, recycling, and disposal. (3) Promote the program by providing consumers, pharmacies, and other entities with educational and informational materials as required under Section 45.
