Definitions.

As used in this Act:

 
(1) "Hostile action" means armed aggression, bombings, terrorist attacks and
other acts of violence or terrorism resulting in death.

 
(2) "Unfriendly forces" means those military or political organizations,
groups or factions engaging in hostile actions or activities aimed against
the United States and its allies.

 
(3) "Wartime period" means the Spanish American War, World War I, World War
II, the Korean Conflict, the Viet Nam Campaign and the period beginning on
the date of any future declaration of war by Congress and ending on the
date prescribed by Presidential proclamation or concurrent resolution of the Congress.
