Illinois Code § 325 ILCS 45/2

For the purposes of this Act, unless the context otherwise

requires, the terms used herein shall have the following meanings ascribed to them:

 
(a) "Fingerprints" mean the impressions of the lines upon the fingertips
taken with ink and placed upon a paper or plastic card for the purpose of
identification.

 
(b) "Local law enforcement agency" means the office of the county sheriff
or a department of a municipality authorized by law or ordinance with the
duties to maintain public order, make arrests, and enforce the criminal
laws of this State or municipal ordinances;

 
(c) "Minor" means a person under 18 years of age; and

 
(d) "Parent" means the natural or adoptive parent who has legal
custody of the minor.
