(a) Beginning July 1, 2024, the Department of Early Childhood and the Department of Children and Family Services shall collaborate and plan for the transition of administrative responsibilities related to licensing day care centers, day care homes, and group day care homes as prescribed throughout the Child Care Act of 1969. (b) Beginning July 1, 2026, the Department of Early Childhood shall manage all facets of licensing for day care centers, day care homes, and group day care homes as prescribed throughout the Child Care Act of 1969.
