As used in this Act: "Assistive technology device" means an item, piece of equipment, or product system, whether acquired commercially, modified, or customized, that is used to increase, maintain, or improve functional capabilities of individuals with disabilities and older persons. "Structural modification" means a change to a dwelling that enhances its usability or accessibility or both for a resident who has a disability or is an older person.
