Sec. 8A-5. Architect of the Capitol. (a) The Architect of the Capitol must be an architect licensed under the Illinois Architecture Practice Act of 1989 and must have at least 5 years of experience in the field of architecture, historic preservation, or both. (b) The offices of the Architect of the Capitol and his or her staff shall be located in Springfield, Illinois, in a building or facility occupied in whole or in part by the legislative branch. (c) The Architect of the Capitol shall have the powers and duties provided by law and by the Board of the Office of the Architect of the Capitol.
